Mom is here. She made it.
17 hours in and we are both still alive. Will keep you posted.
Wanted to advise everyone that it will likely be over a week before you hear from either of us, except if we find time to sign on from home this weekend.
Tonight a friend is hosting a joint-bday party for him and I. Tomorrow will be low key. Sunday is Candlelight and maybe dinner out for my actual b-day. Mon- Thurs mom is coming with me to the field, Friday Alexio arrives and we all head 4 hours north to some spots on the lake, returning Tues for dinner, and I'm back to work on Wednesday, at which point I will do no work because I will be busy typing out all the details of the previous 14 or so days.
Happy May 2-4!

Happy 27th Birthday Heather from all of us here.. Daniela, Dad, Niki and Tia. Say hi to your Mom. Have a great time together.. thinking of you. Love, Dad.
Well, I tried to call but got a busy signal.. and I think it is after midnight so an email will have to do this year... I tried!! Mark says he got you so, that is good. Hope your party went well. Dad.
Happy Birthday Heather!!!! I've only just now sat down and tried to read through a bunch of your various blogs since your arrival. It's been great to hear how it started off and where you are now and I love seeing the pictures of the community, your friends and your house. Obviously I have a lot of interest as I could possibly be the next WUSC volunteer sent over to join you!;)
I noticed your blog about the little bugs that dry in clothes and therefore you need to iron them and it was the same thing for me when I was in Uganda. I believe Dez confirmed it to me and I just took to drying my clothes in the house and then I had no problems but I had a very bright and well screened house and things dried in a day. Anyway, it sounds like things are typical with the ups and downs of living in Africa but I'm glad to see you found some friends to live with. That makes all the difference I'm sure. Do you have room for another?
Take care and I'll try and read your entries more often.
Hugs,
Terri
